FAQ

As a parent or carer, do I need to attend the babyballet® classes?

A parent or carer is required to attend (and participate) until the child is 3 years old. After the child turns 3, it is encouraged that parents/carers wait in the foyer to allow for the child to develop independently of their parent/carer.

Can I enrol my child even if it is mid-term or mid-year?

We encourage students to enrol at the beginning of the year or beginning of term. However, arrangements can be made for you to join our classes mid-term provided that the classes are still open to enrolments.

Does my child need to wear a uniform?

No. There is no set uniform however clothing needs to be appropriate to align with safe dance practice. Click here to find information about attire.

What happens if my child misses a class?

If a class is missed due to injury or illness there is the option for the student to join in a similar class on another day in the same term. No refunds will be given for missed classes due to other commitments.

Can my child participate in an exam?

We do not offer dance examinations at Alanna’s Theatre and Dance Studio. Classes are of a recreational nature. However, we do offer examinations in Musical Theatre through the Trinity College of London syllabus which are a mixture of singing, dancing and acting.

Can my child participate in a competition?

We do not enter in dance competitions at Alanna’s Theatre and Dance Studio. Classes are of a recreational nature.

Do I have to pay by the term or can I pay by the lesson?

Payment is by term only for all babyballet® and children’s classes. Adult classes can be paid by the lesson however there are package deals on offer to save you some money.

I am an adult who has never danced before. Are adult classes suitable for me?

Yes. All of our classes are for beginners. There will always be options given for extreme beginners and for students who would like to be challenged.

Can I take private lessons?

Yes. Please contact Miss Alanna to arrange a time.

Is there an end of year concert?

Yes. The end of year concert is held towards the end of term 4 and is a celebration of the work that the students have prepared during terms 3 & 4. It is the highlight of the dancing year!!
